Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my first book - The 'Unofficial' Police Handbook. 3 years in the making - on top of my other projects, I have completed my 60-page insight on the elements of being a Police Officer. Meant to be both readable and informative to the layman whilst being exciting to fellow officers, I sincerely hope that it is accepted by one and all.
The E-Book preview contains the Preface, Chapter 1 and Chapter 9 (closing chapter) in full, so I hope that it gives a good overall indication of how good (or bad) the book is. After much research, I have decided to price the book between S$8 and S$10 - depending on the final cost of printing and marketing. However, I will be taking pre-orders for the book at S$7 a copy with the print release date set on (or before) 1st October 2008. Please drop me an email via the email link on the left or drop me an SMS at 90602206 to place your orders.
I encourage everyone to read the preview first and decide for yourself if it is worth your money to buy and read it. As those who know me would attest, it is not my style to ask anyone to 'support' this endeavour by buying the book for the sole reason of knowing me. I only ask the small favour of adding your opinion of the preview in the comments section of this entry - be they good or bad.

well written, and seems it should be very good. your choice of language style should go down well with the readers of all ages and levels. it should sell well with all the new policemen there.
you may want to find a way to push it thru the SPF itself. like for example, thru the officers' mess or such avenue.
will try to pass the word arround.
wish you all the best :)
God bless you.

Are you planning to send this to Commander of Police Academy , Commanders of the various divisions/NPCs/NPPs and even to MHA ? If you are, that will be a good move.
For all you know they might adopt it as a booklet for police training or as orientation material at the different police divisions and NPCs/NPPs.
I see you are a prolific writer. Keep it up! Good Luck!

I am truly happy for you, that you are releasing your own book. And I am proud to say I know you personally. Surely I would like to own a copy of your book, if possible with your autograph.
Even though I am not a great fan of Singapore Police Force. I am sure I would get some insides about them (Gossips).
May God bless you for this and all other future achievements.

Congratulations on the publication of your new book! I was a little disappointed that chapters 1 and 9 didn't seem to contain anecdotes or personal stories as these are usually the most exciting parts of a book like this. They also provide examples to illustrate the points the author makes.
Are there such stories in the other chapters?

Thank you all for the comments and support thus far. Yes, I am in touch with the Public Affairs Department of SPF for possible collaboration opportunities with regard to my book.
As to the question on the extent of personal recount of incidents, I had to tread carefully due to OSA issues and have not made reference to any specific incident or officer other than myself.
Nevertheless, I have included insider specifics on how officers think and act, which is quite different to the portrayal of the Police in TV shows and the movies.
I hope this bit of information helps to shed light on this doubt. Please keep the comments flowing, I am blessed to have so many well-wishers...

Dear Ganga,
My heartiest congratulations on the preparation of your book, which sounds a good read.
Wish you all the success with printing, marketing and selling :)
Since you are a veteran in the ink world, you may not need any tips. But if you do need, let me know. I shall be happy to share with you whatever I learned during the publication of my novel.
Cheers!

Congratulations on the launch of your book! Hope it will be a runaway success.
I was really inspired after I read your preview - and created a few book covers for you. Not sure if you like them, but if you do, you can use them for your book!

I read through your book and agree with the rest that I am looking
forward to those specific examples where actual confrontations take
place between actual persons.
I think you write pretty well, and the best thing going for you is that
you have a wealth of interesting experiences that would make any
fictional writer green with envy.
